We Support Children And Families
While Inspiring the Next Generation’s Leaders
Meet Ann Harris,
Our School Founder
Ann Harris took the expertise she earned from teaching in the Toledo Public School District for more than 30 years and channeled the passion she had for providing families with quality child care. As a result, our charter school was created.
Going Beyond Academics To Build Tomorrow’s Leaders
While most would have retired by now, she and her adult children ensure the Academy grows alongside the needs of its students. In a quickly changing landscape, AOEE goes beyond academics to focus on crucial leadership skills, so students develop into competent and confident adults.
Small Class Sizes and Highly Qualified Teachers Set Us Apart
Small class sizes and highly qualified teachers deliver quality, evidence-based instruction among a diverse group of children and families who reflect the racial, cultural, and socio-economic makeup of the country as a whole.
Problem-Solving Skills Come from Diverse and Wide-Ranging Experiences
While some of our youngest may still struggle with pronouncing the word “Constructivism,” it is the cornerstone theory of our instruction. What it comes down to is problem-solving, because authentic learning doesn’t happen with worksheets and flashcards.
in changing tomorrow
When our teachers pose a question, and students are taught strategies, they apply to gather information and participate in a class climate of shared inquiry by using hands-on experiences and a variety of materials. Project learning promotes collaboration between students, and they connect concepts that straddle multiple subjects, fostering more in-depth understanding and critical thinking skills.
